How to Control Oil on Your Face
If you have an oily face, you know how frustrating it can be when every time you turn around your face is shiny. Having an oily face can lead to blackheads, acne, pimples and just drive you crazy. Here are some homemade treatments you can use to control oil on your face.
Carrots make a great mask for acne and blemishes. Take a couple of raw carrots and grate them, add a little lemon juice, lie down and apply them to your face. Leave this on your face for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse with warm water. Use a cotton ball and apply witch hazel or vinegar to your skin to finish.
Take a couple of herbal tea bags, put them in a pan with water, and bring to a boil. Turn the heat off from underneath the pan and set it on a towel or hot pad on the table. Put a towel over your head and while leaning over the pot make a tent and let the steam reach your face. Do this for 10-15 minutes each day. Make sure not to get too close to the steam to ensure you will not burn your skin.
Many times a zinc or manganese deficiency can be a symptom of overproduction of sebum, which can cause your face to become oily. By adding the 50 mg zinc, acetate and/or manganese supplement to your daily regimen for about two weeks, you should be able to see a difference. In order to increase your body’s absorption of manganese add a 1000 mg vitamin C tablet each day.
Try to avoid using any skin products that include oil. Do not eat greasy foods and include extra antioxidants to your daily diet. By using the simple homemade treatments above to control oil on your face, you should see a difference in no time.
