Facial warts most often start out as a small raised bump on the face.  Most of the time they are the same color as the skin.  It can be hard to determine a facial wart, so you may want to check with a dermatologist to verify that it is indeed a wart.  Many times a wart can be mistaken as a pimple other than the fact that there is no pain.

Most facial warts do not pose any threat of cancer however; you most likely want to get rid of them for cosmetic reasons.  There are many ways to treat warts on the face including laser therapy, electro surgery, cryotherapy, retinoids and home treatments.

Since warts can make you feel on attractive, you may be in a hurry to get rid of them.  Many times even without treatment, warts can disappear off of your face.  For this reason, many doctors would suggest you not have a treatment since some treatments can cause scarring.  Applying some medicines to remove warts can harm your delicate facial skin.

There are topical treatments that can help remove facial warts.  Look for medications that are rich in vitamin A.  These have been known to help kill the bacteria that cause warts.

Be sure to check with your dermatologist to find the best topical treatment that will not cause other discolorations or scarring to your skin.  If you try using a treatment and it hurts when you put it on your skin, this is not a good sign and you may want to discontinue use.  Make sure that you do not use any treatments that are known to cause scarring.  It does not do you many good to get rid of a wart and replace it with a scar.  It is possible to treat warts on the face, just make sure you find the best treatment that will work for your skin type.
